How to deploy a Lovable app to production

Lovable makes it quick to build and preview an app. Running it for real customers — on your own domain, with your data protected — takes a few more steps.

The short answer

To deploy a Lovable app to production, connect a custom domain to Lovable's hosting, or sync the project to GitHub and deploy it on a host such as Netlify, Vercel or your own server. Before launch, fix the security warnings, move secrets into environment variables, check the database access rules on every table, and update login redirect URLs to your new domain.

Your three options

There are three common ways to run a Lovable app in production. Which is right depends on how much control you need and who will look after the app.

  • Custom domain on Lovable's hosting — the fastest route. Your app stays on Lovable's infrastructure; you just point your domain at it.
  • GitHub + a hosting platform — sync the project to GitHub and deploy it on Netlify, Vercel or Cloudflare Pages for previews, rollbacks and build logs.
  • Your own server — export the code and run it on a VPS or cloud server you control. Most control, most responsibility: updates, backups and monitoring are yours.

Check these before real users arrive

Most problems with AI-built apps appear after launch, not in the preview. Work through this list first.

  • Every security warning in the project is fixed, not dismissed.
  • API keys and passwords are in environment variables, never in the code.
  • Database access rules (for example Supabase row-level security) exist on every table that holds user data — test that one user cannot read another user's records.
  • Login and password-reset redirect URLs point at your production domain, not the preview address.
  • The site runs on HTTPS with a valid certificate, on your own domain.
  • Backups are switched on and you know how to restore one.

Deploy it step by step

  1. Make sure the app works in preview with test data, including sign-up, login and any payments.
  2. Choose where it will run (see the three options above) and create the account or server.
  3. Move secrets into the host's environment variables and connect the production database.
  4. Connect your domain and turn on HTTPS.
  5. Update authentication redirect URLs and any webhooks (payments, email) to the new domain.
  6. Deploy, then test every key flow again on the live site.
  7. Set up uptime monitoring and backups, and write down how to redeploy.

When to let someone else do it

If you would rather not manage servers, Vibe96's Get It Live service deploys your app — bought on Vibe96 or built elsewhere — on managed hosting with SSL, backups and monitoring. We read your project, tell you what it needs and the price before anything is charged, and deliver within 48 working hours once we have your details. You get a handover with how to run and update it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my own domain with a Lovable app?

Yes. You can connect a custom domain to Lovable's hosting, or host the exported code elsewhere and point your domain there.

Do I need to rewrite my Lovable app to host it myself?

No. Lovable generates a standard web project. You can export it or sync it to GitHub and build it on most hosting platforms.

What most often breaks after moving a Lovable app?

Missing environment variables, login redirects still pointing at the preview address, and database rules that were too open or too strict.

How long does deployment take with Vibe96?

Usually within 48 working hours after we have your code, credentials and domain details. The clock pauses while we wait for anything from you.
